Thanks to all your support, Getty has won the 1st round of the Baby Idol Contest on Sacramento radio 107.9 The End!
She won $100!
I was groggy on the radio early this morning, just waking up. The DJs said, “Getty looks like baby Brad Pitt.”
The DJs’ backpedaling and apologizing was amusing when I said Getty’s a girl. I told them it’s ok because many people have said Getty looks like me; therefore, I must look like Brad Pitt.
On to the finals to shoot for the $1,000 grand prize (and a potential opportunity for some SMA awareness on the radio :))!

Dear Katie and Mark, I believe that your blog, your FB page, your posts on SD – as well as the numerous money raising activites organized by all sorts of supporters do a lot to help raise awareness of SMA.
Last month, I went to a nearby clinic for a shot and, to my surprise, I noticed that an SMA group meeting had been scheduled for earlier that day. I realized that I was not aware that such a group or such an illness existed and plan to find out what kinds of activities they plan, see if there’s any way I can help. I left my number with the receptionist at the clinic, but nobody has called back thus far.
One of my nieces had a baby girl in March, like Getty, and we’re just all so grateful that she’s a healthy, rambunctious little one. I think of Getty often, her joy, her smile, and of your family who are fighting to give her a happy life. Hugs to you all.
