Boy these Wednesdays sure come quick. I got a chance to meet our next Team Getty Runner when Getty was just 3 months old. He is Morgan’s brother-in-law and an equally incredible photographer. There is seriously something in the water over at the Saunders/Frederick household. Everyone seems to be crazy talented and at the same time have such warm and caring souls. Tonight, I introduce you to Tyler.

My name is Tyler Frederick, I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Megan.  We have one son, Zykah, and one baby girl in the oven.  I am inspired by Getty’s story and look forward to being a part of the race on December 4^th.  I love to stay fit, but I am not a long distance kinda guy so I will be doing the relay with my wife and kids.  Very excited to be a part of the Team Getty Runners! And the kind gestures just keep coming. The amount of kindness seems to just flow right to our daughter and I know Miss Getty is aware of all of it.

I received a nice email from a childhood friend, Kristi Mackirdy, now Humphrey, who had gotten in contact with an amazing artist. Sarah and Rob from Bit of Whimsy Dolls have graciously decided to donate half of the proceeds of all purchases of the Olivia Owl Pattern in the entire month of FEBRUARY 2011 to Getty’s Owl Fund. We are simply humbled by the opportunity to work with such terrific people and such a cute little owl, who resembles our little Getty owl.

Thank you Kristi for getting in touch with Sarah and Rob, we appreciate you thinking of Getty and keeping our family in your thoughts. Sarah and Rob, in the amount of correspondence we have made so far, it is clear you are just good people. Thank you so much for allowing Getty to be the recipient of your good will. We hope this is a huge success. If I read your Bit of Whimsy Dolls blog post correctly, more charities will be benefiting from you each month this year. You guys rock!

GETTY WINS 1st Round of Baby Idol Contest on Sacramento 107.9 The End

Thanks to all your support, Getty has won the 1st round of the Baby Idol Contest on Sacramento radio 107.9 The End!

She won $100!

I was groggy on the radio early this morning, just waking up. The DJs said, “Getty looks like baby Brad Pitt.”

The DJs’ backpedaling and apologizing was amusing when I said Getty’s a girl. I told them it’s ok because many people have said Getty looks like me; therefore, I must look like Brad Pitt.

On to the finals to shoot for the $1,000 grand prize (and a potential opportunity for some SMA awareness on the radio :))!

I wish Getty could type this Wednesday’s Team Getty Runner profile. She is laying right next to me and I can tell she is just fascinated by how my fingers hit the keys of the laptop. Getty is also chatting it up as if to tell me what I should be typing. How did I become her personal secretary? 🙂

I am a Christ follower who is compassionate towards people and animals. I was raised in a fun, loving family in Truckee, Ca. I have a beautiful 13yr old step-daughter who I love and admire. If I could live anywhere right now, it would be in an RV with the freedom to travel around the country. I work at William Jessup University with some of the most compassionate, unique, and loving people I have ever met. I am honored to support the awareness of SMA. It’s the least I could do.
